Power electronics medium-voltage (MV) systems must comply with the requirements defined in grid codes. These systems’ compatibility standards can be validated by specialized testing equipment: simulators. This paper presents a hardware loop (HiL) implementation and simulation results of MV multiphase DC/DC converter designed for DC emulation. By using ABB’s reliable, patented power topology (US 10978948 B2) applying advanced control algorithms, presented system used special purposes, such as emulation fault events DC-grid certification other devices, or research goals. The concept simulator (PEGS-DC) is characterized high capability voltage quality. In this paper, general idea applied electrical discussed. Then, details related to PEGS-DC, its modulation method are presented. Subsequently, HiL setup described. main scope article focuses on model description presenting recorded simulations.
